Pothos Manjula

The Pothos Manjula, botanically Epipremnum aureum 'Manjula', has broad, wavy edged leaves splashed with cream, silver, and green. Each leaf looks a little different from the last, which makes this one a favorite for collectors who still want an easy plant to care for.

Why People Like Pothos Manjula

🎨 One of a Kind Leaves

Every leaf carries its own mix of cream, silver green, and green, so no two look exactly alike.

✨ Compact and Bushy

Shorter vines and denser growth than most pothos, which gives it a fuller look in the pot.

✅ Still Easy to Care For

Despite the fancy look, it's just as forgiving as any other pothos.

🎁 A Nice Step Up

A great next plant if you already have a golden or jade pothos and want to branch out.

All the Details You Need to Know

The Story Behind This Plant

Pothos Manjula is a patented cultivar of Epipremnum aureum developed at the University of Florida. It's known for its wide, slightly puckered leaves and variegation that tends to cluster near the center of the leaf and spill toward the edges.

How to Keep It Happy
  • Light: Bright, indirect light brings out the best variegation. In lower light the plant will lean more green.
  • Water: Let the top couple inches of soil dry before watering again, and make sure the pot drains well.
  • Humidity: Normal household humidity works fine, but it grows a bit lusher with more moisture in the air.
  • Soil: A well draining mix with some perlite or coco coir added helps keep the roots happy.

Common Questions

Is Pothos Manjula toxic to cats and dogs?

Yes. Like other pothos, it contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate a pet's mouth if chewed, so keep it out of reach.

Why is the variegation fading on my plant?

Not enough light is the usual cause. Move it somewhere brighter and new growth should come in with more contrast.

How often should I water it?

Water once the top couple inches of soil are dry. This plant would rather be a bit thirsty than sitting in soggy soil.

Is Manjula the same as Marble Queen?

No. Manjula has wavy leaf edges and a puckered texture, while Marble Queen has flatter leaves with more even white and green marbling.
